According to the latest statistics released by the World Steel Association, global crude steel output from the 66 reporting countries totaled 127.724 million tonnes in January this year. The monthly issue was down 7.1 percent from the same month a year earlier. These 66 countries produce about 99 percent of the world's total crude steel output.
