EVRAZ - operating results for the first quarter of 2016

EVRAZ announced its operating results for the first quarter of this year.

Total steel production remained flat in the fourth quarter of 2015 at 3.5 million tonnes of steel. During the first three months of 2016, the company's Russian metallurgical plants operated at full capacity.

Steel production, excluding rolling, remained at the level of the previous quarter - 3.3 million tonnes

The output of railroad products, including the production of rails, in Russia increased by 25 percent, which was due to an increase in demand from Russian Railways, as well as due to an increase in exports to the Middle East and Latin America.

The output of coking coal concentrates increased by 4.6 percent due to increased demand in Russia and Ukraine.
