PJSC "Zaporizhstal" signed a contract for the supply of a bell-less charging device for blast furnace No. 3

PJSC Zaporizhstal signed a contract with Danieli Corus for the supply of a bell-less charging device as part of a large-scale reconstruction of blast furnace No. 3. The contract value is about UAH 165 million.

As previously reported, Zaporizhstal PJSC has begun preparations for a large-scale reconstruction of blast furnace No. 3. The project, in which investments will amount to about UAH 1.47 billion, is being implemented using the most advanced technologies. For the first time in Ukraine, during the implementation of large infrastructure projects, the Zaporizhstal Combine has created an intelligent 3D model of a blast furnace, which will increase the efficiency of reconstruction and significantly reduce the time frame for its implementation.

“During the reconstruction of blast furnace No. 3, we apply the most up-to-date technical solutions and work with the world's best equipment manufacturers. The renewed blast furnace No. 3 after the reconstruction will meet all modern standards, ”said Rostislav Shurma, General Director of PJSC Zaporizhstal.

The modern bell-less charging device, which will be installed during the reconstruction of BF-3, will increase the productivity of the blast furnace, as well as provide an optimal balance and control of the distribution of raw materials at the level of the charge. The delivery of the equipment is planned for November 2016.

Reconstruction of BF No. 3 is planned to start in November 2016 and be completed in 5 months. In July, SKD assembly of elements of this blast furnace will begin on the territory of the plant at a special construction site.
