Ukraine is considering the supply of oil from Iran

Украина рассматривает поставку нефти из Ирана
Ukraine and Iran are currently exploring the possibility of supplying Iranian oil to meet the needs of Ukrainian refineries, as well as refineries located in Central and Eastern Europe, according to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.

However, the details related to the routes of Iranian oil supplies and the economic indicators of the project have not yet been named.

Ukrtransnafta, the national operator of Ukraine, which provides services for the transportation of oil through pipelines to Ukrainian refineries and its transit to Central and Eastern Europe, recently announced its intention to consider the possibility of using the company's transport infrastructure for the transit of Iranian oil to Central and Eastern Europe. , as well as the supply of raw materials for processing to the domestic market of Ukraine.

The Iranian oil minister said earlier that Ukraine is interested in the transit of Iranian oil and gas to the countries of Eastern Europe, noting that Iran needs to study whether it will be economically justified, namely, to export part of the gas and oil of the Islamic Republic to the Czech Republic and Slovakia through Ukraine.

Iran, which is recognized as one of the largest oil and gas producers in the world, as well as the world's fourth largest proven oil reserves and the second largest natural gas reserves in the world, currently produces 3.65 million barrels per day (MBD), which is more about 0.2 mb /d per day less than the level before the sanctions.

Before the sanctions were imposed, Iran exported 2.3 mb /d. The sanctions have reduced the figure to 1 million barrels. Economic sanctions against Iran have been lifted. The Islamic Republic increased its output in January by 0.4 mb /d after the lifting of sanctions and resumed exports to Europe, in addition, Asian buyers also increased purchases.
