How much gas is in Ukrainian storage facilities?

Ukrainian gas reserves on September 7 amounted to 12.93 billion cubic meters. Kiev believes that in order to ensure the safety of the winter season, it is still necessary to add several billion cubic meters of gas.

Currently, the Ukrainian government is analyzing how much gas needs to be stored in storage facilities. Prime Minister Groisman said that the government and NJSC Naftogaz are looking for a compromise on the minimum quantities of gas in underground storage, which are necessary for the safe passage of the upcoming heating season.

According to Groisman, the volume should be between 14.5 and 17 billion cubic meters. Gazprom is concerned about the situation in Ukraine. The head of the company, Alexey Miller, has already stated that he sees a threat to the unhindered transit of gas through Ukraine to Europe in the winter due to low reserves of raw materials in Ukrainian storage facilities.

The filling of underground gas storage facilities plays an extremely important role in the safe transfer of raw materials. In winter, gas consumption always increases and additional volumes of raw materials are supplied. If the volumes of gas in the network are too small, this will cause problems with the normal power supply of individual consumers and industrial enterprises.
