Zaporizhstal continues to connect new gas cleaning equipment

Zaporizhstal this week stopped sinter machine No. 6 for 45 days to connect new gas cleaning equipment. As a result, the plant has already installed new gas cleaning equipment on five out of six sintering machines.

Zaporizhstal is implementing an ecological program for the modernization of the sinter plant, aimed at reducing the technogenic load on the environment. Investments in the ecological modernization of the sinter plant amounted to UAH 870 million.

Stopping sintering machine No. 6 is necessary to carry out a full cycle of work on connecting the new gas cleaning system to the process equipment. Gas cleaning is an integral part of sinter production.

The draft equipment in combination with the gas cleaning system ensures air infiltration through the sintered agglomerate layer and the supply of exhaust air to the bag filters for cleaning.
