During geological exploration in the Kirinsky area, Gazprom discovered large deposits of natural gas and condensate. These are probably quite large hydrocarbon reserves discovered near Sakhalin.
At the moment, drilling is still ongoing, so it is difficult to say how much hydrocarbons are hidden in the depths. Additional information on this topic will be known after experts assess the research material. The Sakhalin region is one of the most promising for Russia.
Development in the east of the country is becoming more and more important because Moscow wants to diversify its clients. The most promising markets are considered to be Asia, which is relatively close to Sakhalin.
According to experts, another field is very good news for Russia and Gazprom, on the other hand, the region is extremely difficult to access, which makes gas from the Sakhalin region quite expensive.
