Russia in August was the largest exporter of oil to China

Russia regained its top spot as China's largest crude oil exporter in August, reflecting growing demand from independent refiners during the month.

Chinese imports of Russian oil rose 50.2 percent in August to 4.64 million tons, or 1.09 million barrels per day (barrels per day), as demand from independent refineries, also known as teapots, increased.

Russia was the largest Chinese supplier in May as well. Saudi Arabia also ranked first. In the first eight months of this year, Russian imports climbed 30 percent higher than last year to 34.14 million tons, or 977.330 barrels per day.
China in August imported 4.36 million tons, or 1.03 million barrels per day, of oil from Saudi Arabia.

To date, Saudi has remained the largest supplier of supplies of up to 997,520 barrels per day.
Deliveries from Oman in August rose 37.9 percent from a year earlier to 3.56 million tons, or 837.396 barrels per day. China's total crude oil imports in August rose by almost a quarter over last year.
