Exports of Russian gas to the European Union are growing

In the first three quarters of 2016, Gazprom sold 10.7 billion cubic meters of gas to non-CIS countries more than in the corresponding period last year.

Among the growth leaders in absolute terms: Great Britain - 4.65 billion cubic meters, Germany - 1.9 billion cubic meters, the Netherlands - 1.52 billion cubic meters, France - 1.5 billion cubic meters and Poland - 1.36 billion cubic meters.

The company also announced an increase in gas demand in many southern European countries. For example, gas supplies to Greece increased over this period by 645 million cubic meters.

This trend will mean that this year will be very good in terms of Gazprom's sales to the European Union.

Last year, Gazprom increased its exports by 8 percent over the previous year. up to 159.4 billion cubic meters. This year, the Russian company expects to sell up to 170 billion cubic meters of gas to the “far abroad” countries.
