The world's leading aluminum producer, Rusal, has announced results for the third quarter and first 9 months. The total production of alumina for the reporting quarter amounted to 1,865 tons, while in the same period last year it amounted to 1.87 million tons.
In the first 9 months of this year, the total production of alumina is about 5,589 tons, an increase of 1.7% over the same period last year. Alumina sales for the last quarter were $ 157 million, and alumina sales for the first 9 months were $ 458 million.
The company's strong performance in the third quarter came mainly from operational efficiency and cost control, as well as high LME prices.
