Interpipe supplies wheel rims for Ukrzaliznytsia locomotives

The Ukrainian company INTERPIPE during January 2017 will produce and supply 3,000 railway tires for locomotives to the enterprises of Ukrzaliznytsia. Bandages are designed for repairing locomotive wheels of suburban electric trains, electric locomotives and diesel locomotives.

In December 2016, Interpipe won a tender for the supply of bandages at the Prozorro e-procurement site. The main requirement of Ukrzaliznytsia was to ensure the production and delivery of products in a short time. Interpipe has launched an idle line for the production of bandages for these purposes. The first batch of products was shipped in December last year, and the last one is scheduled for the end of January.

These products will allow Ukrzaliznytsia to increase the number of operable locomotives and form a maintenance stock, since locomotive wheels are a prefabricated product consisting of a wheel center and a tire, the most worn out part.

Last year, Ukrzaliznytsia began updating its car fleet and purchasing components for repairs, which will provide shippers with rolling stock, and manufacturers of railway products with new orders. Interpipe hope to provide Ukrzaliznytsia with the most modern technical solutions.
