Exports of scrap metal in Russia fell year-on-year

According to statistics, Russian scrap metal exports totaled 189,000 tons in February, down nearly 54.8% from the same period last year. January exports totaled 178,000 tons and is recognized as the smallest export since last year. At the same time, Russian exports to Belarus also fell over the month and amounted to 83,000 tons, which is 25.5% compared to the same period last year.

In January-February of this year, the export of scrap metal from Russia amounted to 434,748 tons, and decreased by 27.6% compared to the same period last year. Among other things, exports of Russian scrap to Belarus amounted to 157,836 tons, reaching 36.3% of total exports, and in the first two months increased by 59.4% compared to the same period last year.
