According to the CEO of Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (FMCG), copper demand remains strong in China, and improvements have been seen in Europe and North America.
Since mid-April this year, Freeport's Indonesian division has experienced high absenteeism, which has negatively impacted the mine's production. The suspension of the mines, according to Freeport, will affect all interested parties, including the Indonesian suppliers, the Rio Tinto group.
