US Scrap Exports Increase YoY

According to US trade statistics, in April 2017, US scrap metal exports totaled 1.177 million tonnes, up 27.4% year-on-year and 29.7% month-over-month.

Exports of scrap metal from the United States to Turkey totaled 315,000 tons, an increase of 21.4% over the same period last year. Exports to Taiwan totaled 129,000 tons, an increase of 33.8% over the same period last year. Mexico imported 94,000 tons, an increase of 56.8% over the same period last year.
