The company's management of the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant decided to suspend the production of metal rolling at the MMK Metalurji plant in the city of Lykenderun (Türkiye) for 90 days, reports http://www.vdr.com.ua/. This measure was undertaken under the pressure of rising prices for scrap and electricity, as well as due to a low price for metal rolling.
At the MMK Metalurji plant, an electric steel -smelter stove and a line for the production of hot rolons were stopped. The cold rolling line and the continuous zinc unit decided not to stop and continue their work at the current loading levels.
According to Magnitogorsk managers, this decision will allow the company to increase the economic efficiency of the Turkish asset and bring the MMK Metalurji plant to a positive level of profitability.
Recall that last week, the shareholders of the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant adopted Solution on the allocation of additional investment in MMK Metalurji in the amount of $ 100 million.
Due to high prices for raw materials and energy resources, MMK stopped the production of metal rolling in Turkey
