For some reason, global production of steel is growing

The World Association of Cast iron manufacturers and steel WSA reported about an increase in steel production in October 2012 by 1.3% to the level of 126 million tons.

The leader of the increase in smelting is the Russian Federation, it was its steelmits that were born 6 million 440 thousand tons of steel, having achieved 12% of the increase in this indicator in relation to October 2011.

In second place in the increase in production was Brazil, whose metallurgical enterprises produced 3 million 200 thousand tons, which is 7.7% higher than October 2011.

The third, honorary place was taken by Chinese metallurgists, who, despite the rather gloomy news from the Middle Kingdom markets, were smelted almost 60 million tons of steel, which is 6% more than last year.

The greatest decline in production was demonstrated by the European Union: Italy lost 10.4% of last year's volumes, and France reduced the production of steel by 7.2%. Ukrainian metallurgists did not stand aloof from European problems and, on the wave of empathy to the problems of European officials and independent trade unions of Europe, reduced the smelting of steel by 8.5% to 2 million 800 thousand tons.

Despite Ukrainian disasters related to the lack of demand for metal rolling, in general, the metallurgy of the CIS countries showed an increase in steel production by 4.4% to 9 million 915 thousand tons.

The United States of America, who suffered not so long ago from a hurricane named Sandy, lost a little more than three percent in production volumes and issued 6 million 900 thousand tons of these products in October 2012.
