The Zaporizhzhya Automobile Plant ZAZ stopped the production of cars at least until the end of 2012. This is not due to the end of the world on December 21, but with the fact that the Ukrainian authorities have not agreed with Russian colleagues on the collection of recycling fees in Russia.
The Ukravto Corporation, which includes the Zaporizhzhya Automobile Plant, is looking forward to the decision -making of decisions about the mutual non -use of Russia and Ukraine of the recycling fee. A month and a half of the forced downtime, the ZAZ will cost at least 400 million UAH of UAH of undertaken revenue.
Russia introduced a recycling fee for vehicles imported from September 1, 2012. For new cars, the collection will be 20-45 thousand rubles. (from $ 609 to $ 1.37 thousand) depending on the volume of the engine, for freight vehicles - 150-400 thousand rubles. ($ 4.5-12.1 thousand) depending on the carrying capacity. An additional fee actually adds 10-12% to the average cost of Ukrainian cars in Russia and makes them completely uncompetitive in the local market.
