The Metallurgical Plant Zaporozhstal completed the overhaul of the domain furnace No. 5

Within the framework of the program for modernization and reconstruction of metallurgical production, a major overhaul of the domain furnace No. 5 of the Zaporizhstal plant was held. According to the company's website, the costs of capital construction and repair in the domain workshop amounted to about 20 million UAH.

During the overhaul, the main distribution apparatus of the furnace was replaced - the complex of the freezed loading device, the repair of the air heaters of the furnace, dust and dusting air heaters, as well as the full reconstruction of the main spilling gutter, was performed.

The French companions were Zaporiyzdzhi Terres Refractaires du Boulonnais, provided a modern fireproof composition to cover a new structure and a gutter frame with a service life before replacement within one month. Innovation allowed to double the overhaul life of the spill gutter and will significantly reduce the loss of cast iron when the melting is released - the expected loss of losses to 10 thousand tons of cast iron per year.

“We spent about 140 million UAH to maintain the clear and well -coordinated operation of the equipment over the past four months of this year,” said Rostorzhstal General Director Rostislav Shurma.
