The international rating agency Fitch Ratings has published a report “Metallurgical and Mining of the CIS: 2013 forecast”, in which it called Ukrainian metallurgists “vulnerable” before the revolution of the crisis in the European Union.
"Ukrainian manufacturers focused on export will be more affected by moderate reduction in steel consumption expected in the European Union in 2013, in comparison with Russian manufacturers. A high share in the production of steel semi -finished products with a lower added cost makes Ukrainian manufacturers vulnerable in case of demand in 2013," Fitch experts say.
At the same time, for Russian metallurgists who have reoriented to the domestic market and develop free trade in metal rolling with local metal traders, Fitch is predicted by "strong demand and high production capacity loading in 2013."
