The France Press Agency reports the abduction of Italian engineer Mario Belomeom from Sicily, and with it two more specialists from Russia who worked at the Hmisho Steel S.A. In the Syrian port city of Latakia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has not yet confirmed the fact of the abduction of Russian citizens in Syria.
Italian Foreign Minister Julio Terezi, without revealing any details of the incident, said that "in all such cases, the security of our citizen is a task of paramount importance, it is necessary to act as cautious as possible. The ministry crisis unit has activated all available communication channels, the Mario Belloomo family is informed about what happened."
