As the Chinese government takes additional measures to stabilize commodity prices, export quotations for Chinese steel are also falling.
Currently, the quotations for Chinese cold rolled steel are quite attractive for Taiwanese buyers. However, there are rumors that China would like to adjust its discounts on cold rolled steel exports, which meant the country could probably remove the entire 13% tax credit on cold rolled products.
As the Chinese suppliers frankly stated in the proposal that after the tax rebate is canceled, the buyer will bear the additional costs. Therefore, buyers in the Taiwanese market are still hesitant to buy Chinese materials.
