In addition, metallurgists demand the introduction of food stamps for all employees, an increase in vacation up to 30 days, a 100% sick leave payment, a social package, and the exclusion of deduction from salaries for medical insurance.

The workers refused to go to work until their demands were met.

The government of Kazakhstan resigned amid massive protests in the republic. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of state, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.

“Accept the resignation of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Temporarily assign the duties of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Smailov Alikhan Askhanovich. Members of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan continue to fulfill their duties until the approval of the new composition, ”the decree says.
