In order to maintain the stability of the EU steel market and at the same time ensure an uninterrupted supply, the European Steel Producers Association (EUROFER) has decided to support the further implementation of steel safeguards.
In addition, the quota has been increased from 3% to 4%, resulting in quota levels well above demand conditions. However, EUROFER CEO Axel Eggert said such growth was not economically necessary.
The European Commission has extended the EU guarantees until June 30, 2024, covering 26 categories of steel products.
