The first day of the tournament in Russia brought good luck to Belarusian SAMBO wrestlers

The SAMBO wrestlers have already added six awards to their team's collection. On the first day of the tournament, BelTA clarifies, three representatives of the Blue-eyed reached the finals in their weight categories, each of them eventually won a gold medal.

Anfisa Kopayeva (up to 50 kg) defeated local athlete Margarita Barneva, Maria Kondratieva (over 80 kg) was stronger than Olesya Tkachenko from the Sverdlovsk region, and Vladislav Sayapin (up to 71 kg) emerged victorious in a fight with Samara athlete Yaroslav Shatokhin.

Belarusian athletes Polina Gramotneva (up to 72 kg), Valeria Khrushcheva (over 80 kg) and Sergey Lesyak (over 98 kg) won bronze medals at the memorial.

By the way, on Monday, the final day of the tournament, SAMBO wrestlers will compete for medals in seven more weight categories, the agency said.
