Japan exported a total of about 21.9 million tons of steel products in the first eight months of this year, down 4.4% from last year, according to statistics from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
Among them, exports to South Korea accounted for the largest share, amounting to about 3.7 million tons, up 20.6% from last year. Thailand came in second with 3.5 million tons, down 15.5% from last year. Exports to China ranked third with 2.8 million tons, down 20% from last year.
