According to their functional purpose, steel wire ropes are cargo, boom, cable-stayed, load-bearing, traction and assembly ropes. These products are manufactured in accordance with state standards, the workmanship is confirmed by a certificate or test certificate. Only in this case, the products are allowed to be used in conjunction with lifting mechanisms.

Steel ropes are firmly attached to drums or crane blocks, and they are not allowed to fall or fray due to contact with metal parts. Each steel rope used in various types of work is characterized by a certain brand, type and design, which are in accordance with regulatory documents. Rigging and slinging works are carried out using wire ropes of various technical characteristics.

Currently, the scope of use of products are mechanisms, pulley blocks, mounting devices, which are equipped with lifting masts. Also, slings, cables, braces and other types of lifting devices are made from ropes. The most commonly used products are applied to industrial and construction cranes.
For the manufacture of steel ropes, high-strength thin steel wire is used, the diameter of which is up to 3 mm. The service life is increased by applying various wear-resistant coatings to the wire. In cases where light, non-galvanized wire is used, an anti-corrosion lubricant is used as a coating on the finished rope.

The distinctive features of wire ropes are single and double lay. A single lay is made from individual wires. In order to obtain a double lay, individual wires are laid into strands, followed by a strand of rope.
The use of a hemp core located in the middle of the rope or between strands gives flexibility to the steel wire rope. In addition, grease retention is provided, which protects the steel wire from corrosion.
