Exhibition "East in the paintings of V.V. Vereshchagina ”will become one of the main cultural events of summer in Cherepovets - in the homeland of the famous artist.
The exhibition will present 29 picturesque works created by Vereshchagin during travel in Central Asia, India and China. Among them: “The statue is in the temple of Indra in Ellor. 1874 ”,“ Buddhist temple in Darjiling. Sikkim. 1875 ”,“ Three main deities in the Buddhist Monastery of Chingacheling in Sikkim. 1875 ". The central theme of the exposition is the East, which occupied a special place in the life and work of the artist.
many works are shown in Cherepovets for the first time, almost everything-in the original frames of the 19th century.
The exhibition will allow you to look at the legacy of Vasily Vereshchagin, to understand how his worldview was formed, and how his native Cherepovets became the starting point on the path of a large artist and a citizen.
the exhibition will open on July 18 at the Vereshchagin Memorial House-Museum and will last until November 1. Tickets can be purchased at the box office of the museum.
