A significant rise in the age of natural gas forced Ukrainian metallurgists to modernize blasting, through the widespread introduction of the technology of dust-angular blowing of fuel (Put) into a domain furnace.
The number of cast iron obtained using the Put technology in 2013 will be 45% of the total number of planned for production. This was announced by the General Director of the Ukrkox association Anatoly Starovoit.
Currently, the Put equipment works at Zaporizhstal, the Donetsk Metzavod, the Alchevsk Impress and at the Ilyich Mariupol plant. It is planned to equip 13 blast furnaces throughout Ukraine in 2013 and, in particular, the Domna of Arselormital Krivoy Rog and the stove on the DMKD.
At the time when all the installations of the PUT go into operation, they will be equipped with more than half of all working domain furnaces of the country, Anatoly Starovoyut emphasized. The only problem arising from the use of new equipment will be that Put uses a metallurgical coke of higher quality, with a reduced sulfur content.
Such coal in Ukraine can be obtained no more than 300 thousand tons per year, however, by the time of commissioning of all Put units, this year more than 1 million 800 thousand tons of high -quality coke may be required. The metallurgical plants of Ukraine will be forced to import about 10 million tons of coking coal or concentrate for the manufacture of coke.
"Economic prerequisites stimulate the installation of Put equipment on each domain furnace of Ukraine, which will increase the competitiveness of cast iron," said Anatoly Starovoit, General Director of the Ukrcks association.
Equipment for dust-angular blowing of fuel will be installed on thirteen blast furnaces of Ukraine
