S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has initiated an investigation into anti-dumping duties on corrosion-resistant steel products from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam, as well as an investigation into countervailing duties on these products from Brazil, Canada, Mexico and Vietnam.
On August 26, 2025, the U.
S. Department of Commerce announced its final positive decisions in the investigations of anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD) on imports of corrosion-resistant steel (CORE) from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.Investigations began in September 2024. .
The decision covers imports worth about $2.9 billion and concluded that these products were dumped and/or subsidized, leading to unfair competition for American steelmakers.
