In 2012, Japanese production became slightly reduced by 2011 by 0.3% and amounted to 107 million 200 thousand tons. This is evidenced by data from the Metallurgical Federation of Japan (JISF).
At the same time, in December 2012, steel production in Japan increased by 0.7% compared to November 2012 and 2% compared to December 2011 and amounted to 8 million 570 thousand tons. However, Japanese metallurgists were not able to reach the production indicators recorded in March 2012.
In December 2012, smelting of cast iron in Japan reached 6 million 700 thousand tons, which is 2% higher than November and 4.4% more than in December 2011. In general, the annual production of cast iron in Japan amounted to 81 million 400 thousand tons, increasing by 0.5% in annual calculus.
At the same time, the rehabilitation of the Japanese auto giant Toyota, which in 2012, became the new world leader in the production and sale of cars, improving its last year’s result by 22.6%. Thus, the growth of the production of cars will positively affect the dynamics of growth in the metallurgical sector of Japan, market experts say.
