In 2012, world production of cast iron reached 1 billion 100 million tons, which is 1.7% more than in 2011. This is stated in the report of the World Association of manufacturers of WSA.
In December 2012, cast iron manufacturers manufactured about 87 million 250 thousand tons of this metal production, which is 0.2% more than in November 2012 and 2.5% more than in December 2011.
The record holder in the smelting of cast iron China, increased the production of cast iron by 3.9% to 654 million 300 thousand tons. The specified volume occupies 59% of the total world production of cast iron.
Ukraine entered the top 10 of the world manufacturers of cast iron, taking an honorable seventh place with a result of 28 million 488 thousand tons of finished cast iron, which is 1.3% less than in 2011.
