Avdeevsky coke Metinvest began producing high quality coke

The Metinvest group reports the beginning of production at the Koksochemical Plant of the Cox premium coke. About this writes the press center of Metinvest.

The main difference between the premium cox and the usual metallurgical was the reduced sulfur content in the finished product, no more than 0.8%, while in ordinary coke this indicator can reach 1.2%. In addition to the reduced level of sulfur, the premium-Cox has a smaller liveliness.

To improve the quality of metallurgical coke to the premium forced the widespread introduction of dust -contaminating plants designed to significantly reduce the consumption of natural gas in steel metallurgy.

Avdeevsky Koksochemical Plant (AKHZ) systematically prepared its production to improve the quality of the final product. So, during 2012, the quality control mode was strengthened and the forecasting method was introduced, which allowed to calculate the alleged qualitative characteristics of the coke, based on the chemical composition of the incoming raw materials.

"I was able to achieve the quality of the cost of a mixture of coals for coking (shichta). Currently, the cokes of improved quality are produced on two coke batteries from eight AKHZ batteries. In the first quarter of 2013, it is planned to increase the premium release level to 60% of the total AKHZ COCS," reports the PROCOS-Center of the Metinvest group.
