The production of steel by metallurgical enterprises of the Russian Federation in 2012 amounted to 70 million 400 thousand tons, which is 3.3% more than in 2011. This is stated in the message of the Federal State Service for Statistics of Russia.
The same message states that the melting of cast iron on Russian uncomplexes amounted to 50 million 500 thousand tons, which is 5.5% more than in 2011.
Meanwhile, in December 2012, Russian metallurgists smelted 5 million 600 thousand tons of steel ( +0.8%) and 4 million 100 thousand tons of cast iron ( +1%).
Recall that according to the World Association, the production of steel in the Russian Federation in 2012 reached 70 million 608 thousand tons.
