NLMK group published operating results for 2012

The production of steel at metallurgical plants of the NLMK group in 2012 amounted to 14 million 900 thousand tons, which is 25% more than in 2011. The NLMK report emphasizes that more than 95% of this volume was melted at the Russian metallurgical plants of the group. As a result of increasing capacities and modernization of production, the NLMK group became the largest Russian metallurgical company. Today, more than 20% of Russian production has become at the NLMK groups, the report said.

In 2012, sales of the company increased by 18.4% to 15 million 200 thousand tons, including sales of products with high -added value - by 27% to 5 million 100 thousand tons.

In the 4th quarter, NLMK groups fell by 3.3% and amounted to 3 million 700 thousand tons. However, against the backdrop of a decrease in demand for flat rental in export directions, the company has increased the sales of semi -finished products, the demand for which remained stably high.

In early 2013, NLMK managers expect some improvement in price conditions against the background of replenishment of stocks of finished products and the corresponding increase in demand, as well as increasing prices for raw materials. Meanwhile, the production of steel in the first quarter of 2013 will remain unchanged regarding the indicators of the last quarter of 2012.

• slabs: 3 million 846 thousand tons ( +18.3% to 2011)


• leaf rental: 9 million 19 thousand tons ( +24.3% to 2011)


• varietal rental: 1 million 454 thousand tons ( +11.3% to 2011)


• Metiza: 287 thousand tons ( +20% by 2011)
