Naftogaz of Ukraine yesterday sent Gazprom a response to his claim for $ 7 billion

NAC Naftogaz Ukraine yesterday sent the response of Gazprom OJSC to its demand to pay $ 7 billion for a shortage of natural gas in 2012. This was reported by the press service of Naftogaz.
The message emphasizes that NAC Naftogaz Ukraine examined the circulation of Gazprom on the payment of the cost of the volumes of natural gas in 2012.

“On January 30, Naftogaz Ukraine sent a Gazprom OJSC. All issues related to the implementation of the contract will be resolved in accordance with its terms, ”the press service of Naftogaz said.

Recall that the Russian Gazprom issued Naftogaz in the amount of about 7 billion dollars for the shortage of natural gas in 2012 based on the BEI or PATIs stipulated by the contract.

As we have already reported, Naftogaz states that the company fully paid for the gas received from the Russian company on previously issued bills.

The Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Eduard Stavitsky said that Gazprom’s demand for short -term gas is unlawful.

Fitch rating agency experts and some Ukrainian analysts believe that the Russian side will use Naftogaz's account as an additional lever of influence on Ukraine in order to force it to join the Customs Union with the Russian Federation.
