The new head of the Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine will develop a mining and metallurgical complex

Новый глава министерства промышленной политики Украины будет развивать горно-металлургический комплекс
As it became known, today the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych appointed the head of the board of the Southern Mining and Processing Plant (Yugok, Dnipropetrovsk Region) Mikhail Korolenko as Minister of Industrial Policy of Ukraine. This was reported by the presidential press service.

First of all, the new Minister of Promo Politics of Ukraine will take up the restoration of the country's mining and metallurgical complex, which the president decided today.

The development of the GMC will become a priority area of the ministry, Mikhail Korolenko said in an interview with Forbes. “Of course, the development of the mining and metallurgical complex. I think this is the first. The development of mechanical engineering is also included in the sphere of my powers. Rather, the restoration of what has been missed over the past two years, which has been reduced by the GDP indicator. All these areas need to be raised. This will immediately take up the ministry,” he said to the question of three primary directions where budget money will go.

For many employees of the metallurgical complex of Ukraine, the new minister is still a dark horse. “Judging by the fact that he headed the largest GOK in the country, he is a fairly good specialist,” the former Minister of Promo Politics Valery Mazur shared his thoughts. “The workers from the GOK spoke about it only on the positive side. Unlike some previous ministers, he knows exactly the problems of the industry,” adds Vasily Shevchenko, chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk trade union of metallurgists and miners.
