In 2012, the production of commodity metal in Turkey reached 34 million 300 thousand tons, which is 7.3% more than in 2011. This is stated in the report of the Turkish association of manufacturers of steel and cast iron.
However, in connection with a decline in the global economy, Turkish metallurgists were not able to repeat the achievement of 2011, when the annual growth in the production of metal production amounted to more than 21.5%.
In 2012, out of the total amount of metal rolling, 25 million 200 thousand tons amounted to varietal rental and reinforcement and, accordingly, 9 million tons - sheet rental. At the same time, the production of flat metal rolling decreased by 0.4%, and the release of varietal and reinforcing rolling increased by 10.4% compared to 2011.
The consumption of metal rolling in Turkey also increased in 2012 by 5.6% to 28 million 400 thousand tons, and the consumption of sheet metal rolling increased by 3.1% to 13 million 600 thousand tons, and varietal steel by 7.9% to 14 million 800 thousand tons, all compared to 2011.
The given data indicate that the construction sector of Turkey is much more active and stronger than the production, is emphasized in the report of the association. In 2012, the share of the consumption of varietal metal rolling and reinforcement amounted to 52.1% against 47.9% of sheet steel.
Türkiye increased the production of commodity metal rolling in 2012 by 7%
