In 2012, the production of stainless steel in China amounted to 16 million 100 thousand tons, which is 14% more than in 2011. This was reported by the Chinese Association of manufacturers of special engineers.
Meanwhile, the export of stainless steel from China decreased by 8% - to 2 million 100 thousand tons, and import also fell by 14% to 772 thousand tons.
At the same time, the internally stainless steel consumption in China increased by 16% and amounted to 12 million 900 thousand tons in 2012.
