According to preliminary data, the export of metal products from China in 2012 increased by 6 million 600 thousand tons to 39 million 250 thousand tons, while imports decreased by 1 million 800 thousand tons to 12 million 500 thousand tons. Meps writes about this in his preliminary report on China.
The positive balance of the trade balance, based on the above data, increased by almost one and a half times - by 46% to $ 5 billion in monetary terms. For the Chinese steel industry, the last year has become significant in this regard, Meps emphasize.
World consumption of metal rolling in other parts of the world has practically remained at the level of 2011. Consequently, the Chinese national economy sharply increased its share in global demand for steel in the existing adverse market conditions. For the most part, this is due to the ability of China to produce goods at competitive prices and sell them around the world.
The largest gain from exports received varietal metal rolling - its sales increased by 20% compared to 2011 to 6 million tons. The Chinese katanka was best sold in the export markets of the world in 2012.
The hot -rolled sheet and roll were also sold well, and about 90% of the flat rental from China made up specialized studies for various purposes. However, the export of this metal rolling decreased by 1 million 500 thousand tons compared to 2011.
Over the past year, the most orders for Chinese metal distribution came from its closest neighbors - countries of Southeast Asia, reports Meps. It is expected that Asian states will take first places in consumption of the eight most important directions of Chinese export of steel. At the same time, in 2011, countries neighboring countries were leading in only five nominations.
A shift in consumption to the countries of Asia reflects, according to MEPS analysts, a global change in the nature of the world economy.
Today it has already become clear to everyone that the Chinese steel industry will remain dominant power in the world's steel and metal production markets in the coming years. The main problem is excessive metallurgical capacities still exists, but will be eliminated in the near future and without unnecessary noise.
The growth of a positive balance of foreign trade in steel in China increased by $ 5 billion in 2012
