The average daily melting of cast iron for the first decade of February decreased by 1.6% to 79 thousand 300 tons, steel production decreased to 86 thousand 900 tons, which is 5.3% less than in January 2013.
The loading of metallurgical capacities in Ukraine on February 1, 2013 was:
- domestic production - 78% (28 furnaces from 36);
- Converter production - 86% (18 converters from the 21st);
- Marten production - 56% (9 out of 16 furnaces);
- Electrometallurgical production - 33% (5 out of 15 electric furnaces).
As we have already reported, in January 2013, the production of metal rolling on Ukrainian power plants increased by 9.8% compared to the previous month - to 2 million 524 thousand tons, the production of steel by 10.9% - to 2 million 845 thousand tons and the melting of cast iron increased by 6.6% - 2 million 497 thousand tons.

In 2012, Ukrainian metallurgical plants reduced the production of steel by 6.6% compared to 2011, to 32 million 394 thousand tons, melted 1.3% less - 28 million 513 thousand tons.
In 2012, Ukrainian pipe plants reduced the production of pipes compared to 2011 by 9.4%, to 2 million 14 thousand tons.
