Peruvian steelmaker Corporación Aceros Arequipa posted net profit of $19.271 million in the third quarter of 2026, down 26.9% from $26.373 million a year earlier.
The company said the decline was mainly due to lower gross profit and reduced income from subsidiaries. Lower financial and other operating expenses partly offset the drop.
Net sales rose 4.9% to $364.607 million, but production costs increased 8.2% to $314.599 million. Gross profit fell 11.8% to $50.008 million, while operating profit declined 16.6% to $29.351 million.
Aceros Arequipa has estimated annual production capacity of 1.2 million metric tons. The results, originally reported in Peruvian soles, were converted at an exchange rate of PEN 3.45 per US dollar.
