Peruvian steelmaker Siderperu posted net profit of $18.357 million in the third quarter of 2026, down 15.6% from $21.756 million a year earlier. The company attributed the decline mainly to lower operating profit.
Revenue rose 8.5% to $196.318 million on higher sales volumes, despite lower unit prices than in the third quarter of 2025. Production costs increased 10.2% to $169.888 million. As a result, gross profit edged down 1.6% to $26.430 million, while operating profit fell 14.5% to $19.370 million.
Tighter control of financial expenses partly offset the decline in net profit, the company said. Siderperu is controlled by Brazilian group Gerdau and has annual production capacity of 750,000 metric tons. It reports in Peruvian soles; dollar figures were converted at PEN 3.45 per US dollar.
