In December 2012, the export of welded and specialized steel pipes from Turkey amounted to 62 thousand 118 tons, reaching a record value from the end of 2006. This was announced by the Turkish Institute of Statistics.
At the end of 2012, Turkish export of steel welded pipes increased one and a half times compared to November and 58.5% compared to December 2011.
For the whole of 2012, Turkish metallurgical enterprises exported 511 thousand 40 tons of welded and profile pipe, which is 23.3% more than in 2011.
Last year, the main area of export of pipe products became the United States, where Turkish metallurgists sold 125 thousand 289 tons of this goods, doubled the result of 2011. The largest importer of Turkish pipes - Great Britain, also increased the purchases of welded and profile pipes by 19.2% to 77 thousand tons.
Meanwhile, in December 2012, the export of pipe products from Turkey to the EU decreased to the lowest level over the entire year and amounted to 12 thousand 433 tons. Nevertheless, in the annual calculus, deliveries to the eurozone grew by 2.2% and amounted to 228 thousand 758 tons.
