The newly opened factory doubles the company's existing production facilities in China, expands its product portfolio, increases local employment, and provides shorter lead times for customers in China and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
The Zhenjiang project includes a 12,500 square meter cold finishing mill, which allows for the introduction of a premium range of pipe products for specific applications. According to Joran Bjorkman, President and CEO of Alleima, the additional capacity strengthens the company's ability to deliver high-quality pipe solutions designed to meet the growing demands of the chemical, petrochemical, hydrogen, pulp and paper, and medical industries.
Expanded product range for demanding industrial applications
The new facility will produce an expanded range of high-performance pipe products previously imported to China. This includes heat exchange pipes, high-temperature pipes, composite pipes, and hydrogen refueling pipes designed to operate in extreme conditions, high pressure, and aggressive environments.
By localizing production, Alleima strengthens its competitive position in Asia and increases accessibility for customers who require specialized pipe materials that ensure energy efficiency, operational reliability and long-term sustainability.
The production plant will operate using solar energy. capacity, which corresponds to the certificate of the Alleima Zhenjiang "Green Factory" issued by Jiangsu Province. The investments support the company's commitment to sustainable production, increased process efficiency, and reduced environmental impact.
