TUIK: The cost of steel imports to Turkey decreased by 4.8 percent in January 2026

According to preliminary foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January of this year, the value of iron and steel imports to Turkey fell by 4.8 percent year-on-year, amounting to $1.80 billion. In this month, iron and steel ranked sixth among the country's most imported products in terms of value.

Meanwhile, in this month, the cost of importing iron or steel products, which ranked 16th among the products with the highest import value, decreased by 5.7 percent, amounting to $316.80 million.
