The number of active rigs in the US remained at 603 in the week ending October 23, 2026, according to Baker Hughes.
The number of rigs drilling for gas fell by one to 132, while oil rigs rose by one to 460. The US total was up by 53 rigs year over year.
Canada added three rigs during the week, bringing its total to 220. That was 21 more than in the same period a year earlier.
