In January 2013, the production of steel in Kazakhstan fell to 205 thousand 159 tons, which is 37.9% less than in January 2011. This was reported by the State Committee of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The production of sheet metal rolling in January of this year decreased by 55% and amounted to 149 thousand 380 tons, galvanizing by 56.9% - up to 29 thousand 988 tons and the production of white tin and tinned steel by 40.7% - to 8 thousand tons, the production of ferroalloyables decreased by 2.8% and amounted to 136 thousand tons of 207 tons (all data compared to with January 2011).
As we have already reported, in 2012, steel production in Kazakhstan decreased by 21.6% to 3 million 770 thousand tons, but the production of ferroalloys increased by 3.3% to 1 million 724 thousand tons.
