In January 2013, 37 thousand units reached the sales of new cars in Turkey, which is 19% more than in December 2012. This was reported in the Turkish Association of Car manufacturers (OSD).
In the total number of cars sold in January, sales of cars left 25 thousand 835 units, increasing by 22.6% in annual calculus.
Meanwhile, in 2012, sales of vehicles in Turkey decreased by 10%, including sales of passenger cars by 6%, compared to 2011.
In January 2013, Türkiye exported 56 thousand 578 cars, which is 4.1% less than in January 2012, including export of cars fell by 12.7%. The income from automobile exports amounted to about 1 billion 500 million US dollars, including 422 million 700 thousand dollars, which is 15% less than in January 2012.
In January of this year, imports of vehicles in Turkey increased by 28.1% to 23 thousand 669 units, including cars 25 thousand 835 units ( +22.6%). The sale of imported cars took more than 64% in the total number of cars sold in January 2013 in Turkey. Sales of imported equipment in the passenger segment reached 76%.
