The Vice President and Chief Executive Director of the new projects of Arselormital India, Mr. Sanak Mishara, said in an interview for the Indian Financial Express that there is no proper coordination between the central government and the state authorities.
For several years now, the company headed by Mishar has been trying to master new investment projects worth more than $ 30 billion.
Speaking on a round table dedicated to the problems of the steel industry of India, he proposed to create the National Council for Steel in India, which would include the relevant ministers in matters of the metallurgical sector of industry.
“This advice should play an emergency in making decisions in the issues of India metallurgy. Arselormital has not yet been able to achieve significant progress in the implementation of two mega projects for the construction of metallurgical capacities for 12 million tons of steel a year that began back in 2006. Both of these projects in the states of Jarkhan and Odisha were met with severe resistance from local residents and mired in various instances, ”said Sanak Mishara.
“We must establish a more intensive interaction between the central government and the governments of the States, whose reaction in our opinion is inadequate,” he added.
