Arselormittal Kryvy Rog reduced steel production in January due to scrap metal deficiency

The gasoloma deficit led to a decrease in the production of steel and metal rolling in January 2013 at Arselormittal Krivoy Rog PJSC (former Kryvyuzchstal) to 536 thousand 500 tons, which is 3.4% less than in January last year. This was told by the head of the Arselormital administration Kryvyi Ramizhu Kalon.

“This circumstance influenced the level of production of steel and rental, and we were forced to pour and wareer a chushki cast iron. We managed to stay at the business plan level regarding all types of products, but according to the results of the month, the production indicators of the enterprise are slightly lower than in January 2012,” Mr. Kalon said.

Meanwhile, the average wage of Krivorozhsky metallurgists increased by one and a half thousand hryvnias over the year and amounted to 5305.7 UAH in January this year, against 4775.9 UAH in January 2012.

Taking advantage of the lack of scrap metal , the Arselormital managers made repairs at the largest blast furnace of the enterprise 5 thousand m 3 and the heating furnace of the wire camp. In January, the converter No. 6 was also stopped for a month and a half for a month and a half.
